About

Friedens UCC, founded as Friedens Union Church in 1830, is an active faith community in the heart of the Oley Valley. Our ministry has continued on Main Street ever since our founding.

Whether through meaningful worship, engaging Bible study, fun youth group events, the annual bazaar, hoagie making, blessing of the animals, nurturing Sunday School classes or serving in the community, Friedens United Church of Christ loves being together as we live out our faith.

Proud German Reformed Heritage

A Storied History

We are proud of how Friedens started, but we are just as proud of how we have grown. Approximately 200 years of history is quite a lot to capture with just how busy and lively things are at 337 Main Street.

An Active Member of the Local Community

Our ministry is always guided by our mission statement, "Together we serve with joy and love!" Those simple words invite us to be an active community in faith and fellowship.

In 2000, we greatly expanded the footprint of our church with an addition to the building. This additional square-footage of the church includes Weidner Hall (a social hall and full kitchen), classroom/ meeting spaces, and the narthex for gathering and welcoming guests. Our congregation's outreach and mission are greatly improved through these spaces.

If you have an interest in using one of our church spaces for a meeting, wedding, funeral, community event, etc. we ask that you contact the church office. Our calendar of events scheduled in the building and as part of our worship/ mission is regularly updated and can be accessed at the below link. You can also learn more about the spaces that we have available for rent through the below link.
